The Ethiopian Embassy issues:- Diplomatic, Service, Business, Tourist & Transit visas. Based on the applicants' request the Embassy issues Single or Multiple visa.

Time Taken for Visa

• The visa is issued at the same date of the application if the applicant comes to the Embassy in person.

• For those who applied by mail, the visa is processed after the money is appeared in the embassy account and this would take up to 5 days. The mailing time takes 5 to 7 days form countries outside Sweden. Hence,  it is advisable to send the visa application 15 days a head of the departure date.

NB. In November and December, due to the pick season, visa process may take longer than the time stated above.

Requirement from the applicant: -

• One duly filled and signed visa application form (PDF) (except for Eritrean and Eritrean origin)
• One recent passport size photograph (not computer printout or scanned).
• Original valid passport (at least for 6 months).

Notes:-

• Holder of Diplomatic or Service passport or United Nation LP should produce a note verbal from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Embassy's or International Organization, so that you will have visa for gratis.
• Business visa grated for:- investment activities, employment in any activity, for humanitarian service without remuneration, for participation in symposia/exhibition/workshops, for study and research, for mass media activities. 
• For Business visa a guarantee letter from the Institution/Organization/Enterprise or a formal letter from Ethiopia is needed. The purpose of travel and the duration should be stated clearly.
• Transit visa shall be issued to a foreigner who is travelling to another country across Ethiopia.
• Please make sure that the application form is fully completed. Failure to do so may delay your visa or lead to rejection. It is important to note, that you have made the necessary payment for the service you receive on time.
• Incomplete visa application will not be processed.

Payment :-

• Visa fee (including the postal transfer and Bank commission) has to be paid in advance by Nordea Bank IBAN No. SE62 9500 0099 6026 0629 2478, SWIFT-Code NDEASESS, 

• Attach your payment receipt *(write the full postal address of the receiver on the receipt). if you pay for some other person, write the full name of the person on the receipt to who the payment is made.

• If you transfer visa fee for one person or group of people at a time then bank commission will be the same (i.e. 60 SEK)

Notes on Postage and postage fee

• Applicants must send (enclose) a pre-paid and a pre-addressed envelop.

• We do not accept any payment for postage fee.

• Therefore, applicant form outside Sweden must enclose a pre-addressed envelop (write the full postal address of the receiver on the envelop) with 9 International coupons for the weight up to 100 grams or 11 International coupons for the weight up to 250 grams or 14 International coupons for the weight up to 500 grams, to enable us to send back your passport by registered mail to your address.

• Applicants don't need to pay for postage fee.

NOTE: -

• Those who come to the Embassy in person can pay only in cash. (Only Swedish kroner) is acceptable in cash.

• Visa fee for adult and children is the same.

• Do not send cash. We don't accept cheques, visa or any credit card and other currencies. (Only Swedish kroner) is acceptable in cash.

• Multiple entry Tourist visa for 6 months is only for Ethiopian origin.

• Business visa for religious Organization is maximum 90 days.

• Any amount of money paid in excess of the required amount is not refundable.
